Today we took an acclimatization hike on the outskirts of La Paz through an area known as the Valle de Las Animas (Valley of the Souls). The valley is named after the tall wispy shapes of the hoodoo like formations that rise up all across the area.

May 17th Bolivia Group Arrives in La Paz

The 2026 Bolivia Season has begun! Our team of seven climbers met for a gear check this morning. Then we shared a lunch that was both delicious and beautifully presented before continuing with a tour of the city from plazas to markets to cable cars.
We are excited to begin our season in Bolivia!
