A crowning achievement for many mountaineers, reaching the high point on each continent presents a unique and exciting challenge. This great undertaking is possible for a fit enthusiast; with desire leading the charge, one can progressively learn climbing skills along the way to reach the rarefied goal of standing atop the worlds high points.
As the first outfitter to offer the 7 summits program, Alpine Ascents has assisted hundreds of climbers in reaching the highest points on each continent. Our success in guiding the seven summits is the highest in the industry as we work closely with each climber who takes on this challenge.
For those with Seven Summit aspirations, there is a logical progression which enables climbers to build on previously developed skills. This suggested program is economically prudent and considers technical skill level, acclimatization and summit success rates.
The Seven Summits:
Stage 1
These include climbs and courses that can be completed without prior mountaineering experience.
Travel through 5 distinct ecosystems on this non-technical climb to the Roof of Africa. Our US-based lead guide joins local guides, porters, and staff to support you every step of the way. No prior mountaineering experience needed
Build the skills and experience needed for the Seven Summits. Our courses on Washington’s Mount Baker and Mount Rainier, along with Alaska’s glaciated course, teach glacier travel, crevasse rescue, and alpine mountaineering fundamentals use to prepare climbers for the Seven Summits and beyond. Stage 2
Climbers should have some previous mountaineering experience. Mount Baker or Mount Rainier are ideal stepping stones for Elbrus and Aconcagua.
Reach the top of South America on this demanding, non-technical expedition. Over two weeks, our team moves camp to camp across high-altitude terrain, acclimatizing along the way, with AAI’s experienced guides managing the pace, logistics, and safety of your climb.
Climb Europe’s high point in Russia’s stunning Caucasus mountains on a moderately technical ascent. Our guides blend cultural immersion with mountaineering, leading you through local villages and onto the glaciated slopes of Elbrus for a well-rounded expedition experience.
Stage 3
Reach Antarctica’s highest peak on a remote expedition through a landscape of endless ice and 24-hour daylight. AAI guides manage the logistics of this unique climb, from the charter flight to Union Glacier to the final push to the summit.
Stage 4
Often considered the most demanding of the Seven Summits. Over three weeks, our team hauls gear and moves camp to camp across Alaska’s glaciers, with Alpine Ascents guides providing the technical skill and support needed to reach North America’s highest summit.
Climb a technical rock route through the remote rainforest and highlands of Indonesia’s Papua province. Alpine Ascents has guided this route since 1994, bringing decades of experience to help you reach Oceania’s high point on one of the most unique Seven Summits climbs.
Stage 5
Stand on the highest point on Earth. This multi-week expedition through the Khumbu is the ultimate mountaineering objective, and Alpine Ascents bring 40 years of Himalayan experience to help you navigate the technical and physical demands of the world’s tallest peak.
