Today we enjoyed a full day of hiking and excellent views across the bays and coves of the Sun Island and across the lake to the snowy peaks of the Cordillera Real. We began our morning with a hike above the town of Copacabana and then traveled to the Sun Island by boat. We spent the entire afternoon hiking along the crest of the island. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed acclimating to 13,000 ft in full luxury!

Bolivia Team Travels Along Lake Titicaca

Today we left the city and visited the Tiwanakan ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a lunch where several climbers tried llama steaks, we continued our travels along the shores of Lake Titicaca before arriving at our hotel in Copacabana. We ended the day with a gorgeous sunset over the bay and a three course meal that included pink lake trout and passionfruit cheesecake.
We will travel by boat to hike the largest island in Lake Titicaca tomorrow.

Bolivia 2025 Team in La Paz

The rainy season has finally ended and the 2025 Bolivia season has begun with clear skies and excellent conditions! The team met in La Paz today for an orientation and gear check, followed by lunch and a tour of the city by foot, by car, and by cable car. We toured viewpoints, plazas and markets and marveled at the views of the city and mountains from a variety of angles.
Tomorrow we are heading out of La Paz to spend a couple of days acclimating in luxury along the shores of Lake Titicaca.
