Our team of world renowned guides are full-time climbers. Many of them have historical climbing achievements synonymous with their names. They are a part of Alpine Ascents because they understand and share our climbing principles. These individuals are dedicated to sharing their excellence with others. We encourage you to compare our guide team on a particular mountain with any in the industry. Alpine Ascents sends a lead guide on every expedition.

In 2011 Vern Tejas will be leading our Carstensz Pyramid trips. In addition to our lead guide, we employ top local guides who consistently make the expedition enjoyable, enriching and extremely educational.

Experience
Utilizing our expertise gained from the world’s high mountain ranges, we have created a highly personalized and enjoyable approach to this popular trip. The familiarity with the region, combined with our expertise and knowledge around the world, lend a depth and richness to every expedition that we feel is unrivaled in the guiding community.

Porters
We employ many Dani porters to assist in transporting all gear, food and equipment to base camp. During our three day trek through the jungle, these porters become our good companions and we are able to share many aspects of our differing cultures.

Safety
Your safety while participating in this expedition is one of our prime concerns, and we therefore provide you with the best equipment available. All guides are well versed in wilderness first-aid techniques. Ultimately your guide makes decisions with your comfort and safety in mind, and yet tries to maximize the experience of the adventure for each individual. For your own safety it is important that you are comfortable with standard climbing techniques and use of climbing equipment.

Recent Expedition Success
Our 2010 Expedition, led by Vern Tejas, saw 100% of the climbers (5 out of 5) reach the top.

Our 2007 Expedition, led by Dave Morton, saw 100% (4 out of 4) of the climbers reach the top.

Our 2006 expedition led by Dave Morton saw 7 out of 8 team members reach the summit. Prior to 1995 we were the leading guide service to Carstensz with 100% success.

Our ‘94 and ‘95 expeditions had outstanding success with a total of 18 climbers (entire expeditions) reaching the summit.
